NdAlSi: A magnetic Weyl semimetal candidate with rich magnetic phases and atypical transport properties

Magnetic Weyl semimetals (MWSMs) have attracted significant attention due to their intriguing physical properties and potential applications in spin-electronic devices. Here we report the characterization of NdAlSi including transport, magnetization, heat capacity on single crystals, as well band structure calculation. It is a newly proposed MWSM candidate which breaks both time-reversal spatial inversion symmetries. A temperature--magnetic field phase diagram experimentally established. Remarkably, angular magnetoresistance, twofold symmetric sharp peak instead smooth variation observed across boundary between ferrimagnetic antiferromagnetic phases. We argue that tunability electronic magnetic crucial for realizing such behavior. Our results indicate $4f$-electron-based could provide unique platform explore new quantum phenomena arising from interaction magnetism electron topology.
